Egg Beaters makes this savoury quiche super easy. You'll enjoy all the goodness of spinach in a delicate pastry crust.

Ingredients:

1 9" frozen pie shell, thawed 1
PAMŪ Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
1 Medium onion, chopped 1
1 Clove garlic, minced 1
1 10 ounce package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry 1
1 cup Egg BeatersŪ Original 250 mL
1 cup Skim milk 250 mL
1 tbsp All-purpose flour 15 mL
1 tsp Dried basil leaves 5 mL
3/4 tsp Hot pepper sauce (optional) 4 mL


Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Lightly prick entire pie shell with fork. Bake 5 minutes, or until lightly browned; set aside. Reduce oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Spray a medium skillet with cooking spray; heat over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook and stir 4 minutes, or until tender. Add spinach; mix well. Spoon into crust.
  3. Combine Egg Beaters, milk, flour, basil and hot pepper sauce. Add salt and pepper if desired. Pour over spinach mixture.
  4. Bake 50 minutes or until knife inserted into center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting into 6 slices.

Helpful Tip: When baking, cover edge of crust with foil to prevent over-browning.
